Delaware Trail Spinners

We are mountain bicyclists of all abilities joining together to enjoy and promote the sport of mountain biking. Mountain biking is a privilege; therefore, we seek to balance our enjoyment of riding with responsible trail use. We are committed to preserving access to trails through education and advocacy. We volunteer significant time and effort to construct, preserve and improve trails for shared use. The Delaware Trail Spinners is a nonprofit mountain bike club incorporated in the State of Delaware. We are a member of IMBA, the International Mountain Bicycling Association. Most Trail Spinners live in northern Delaware and nearby Pennsylvania, Maryland, or New Jersey. We actively ride trails in all states. We are committed to environmentally and socially responsible mountain biking. We seek to maintain existing trail access and open new trails to mountain biking through advocacy and education. Most of our volunteer efforts impact trails at Middle Run/White Clay and Fair Hill.

Thursday Evening Moderate Pace Rides @ Fair Hill

Every Thursday evening (weather permitting) leaves from the North Appleton Road Parking lot at Fair Hill at 5:30pm. This means ready to ride at 5:30.

This is an moderate paced fun and friendly ride that sometimes breaks into smaller groups according to ability. Figure on 10-15 miles of single track with some stops at about an 8 to 10+ mph pace (don't worry, we'll break into groups). Nobody gets dropped. There is an expectation that you are comfortable on single track and at least somewhat self sufficient, meaning you could make minor repairs such as fix a flat tire.

Tuesday Evening Beginner Rides @ Fair Hill

Every Tuesday evening (weather permitting) leaves from the Gallaher Road Parking lot at Fair Hill at 5:30pm. This means ready to ride at 5:30.

This is an easy paced ride that sometimes breaks into smaller groups according to ability. We usually try to always have an easy route back to the parking lot. Figure on 5 to 10 miles of single track with frequent stops. Nobody gets dropped. All abilities are welcome.

While we call this a beginner ride, it's not limited to just beginners. Usually there's a good mix of abilities and there's lots of advice and tips to be shared. This is a good ride to start out with and see how your abilities compare to other riders.
